CITIZENS MONITOR. EVERYONE WINS.

Integrity Action unlocks the power of citizens to build a green and just future for their communities.

Our Impact

Integrity Action promotes integrity in the delivery of projects, essential services, and infrastructure in some of the world's most challenging environments.

We work with citizens to make sure that their needs are genuinely met – as identified and expressed by communities themselves - so that they have a voice and play a role in the decisions that most impact their lives. We also design digital applications that citizens can use to generate rich data, in real-time, helping stakeholders understand where the problems are and how they can be solved.

Since being founded in 2003, Integrity Action has become a recognised voice in the fields of social accountability, civic tech, and open government. The tools and approaches we have developed have been used in over 20 countries. To date, citizens have monitored over $1 billion worth of projects and solved over 70% of problems found. As these “fixes” accumulate, life starts to visibly improve for communities, while valuable trust is built along the way. We call our approach ‘citizen-centred accountability’.

Together, we can help re-imagine global development: shifting the power and resources that we collectively hold towards the communities we work for and use citizen-centred accountability to fight the climate emergency, global insecurity and conflict, and the widespread public trust deficit.
