At the end of October I attended a symposium in Moscow, Russia, initiated by UNODC (United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime), in order to share ideas about improved teaching of anti-corruption, and to prepare some recommendations for the Sixth Session of the Conference of the States Parties (COSP6) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), in St. Petersburg, 2-6 November 2015.

This July, I had the privilege to take part in the Integrity Leadership Course at the Central European University in Budapest. Being new to Integrity Action, the course was a fantastic opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of our approach on integrity, as well as to get to know new partners, colleagues and like-minded people coming from more than 25 countries. I came back home inspired by the people I met and their experience, and ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

Over six days in July, I attended Integrity Action’s annual Integrity Leadership Course at Central European University in Budapest. While I work in the anti-corruption field, I left with a new appreciation of what a seismic shift is taking place in the movement at the moment and why it can be difficult to grasp the practicalities of this shift.

The Armenian Government is in the process of working out their 3rd National Anti-Corruption Strategy and is looking for fresh ideas and approaches that can deliver tangible, short-term results towards greater integrity. In April, Fredrik Galtung, President of Integrity Action, was invited to meetings with top government officials to discuss how Integrity Action’s approach could bolster those efforts, which included a major project to refurbish Armenian schools.

An interview with Tetiana Shyian, Lecturer and PhD at Mykolayiv National University, Ukraine 

Thirty-two university administrators, NGO leaders and academics took part in an Integrity Action workshop from 28-30 May 2015 in Chisinau, Moldova. The participants were drawn from 17 universities from across Moldova and the Ukraine. Lecturers and professors represented a variety of disciplines - English, economics, marketing, law, engineering, international relations and accounting – with the common aim of incorporating more integrity content into their courses.
