Last Friday we completed Integrity Action's first 5-day course in French on the marvellous island of Gorée off the coast of Dakar in Senegal. Gorée is a small island of 900 x 300m that feels like a village with some 1,800 inhabitants. On the island there is the Gorée Institute, whose South African founders were closely associated with OSF, George Soros and Aryeh Neier. Although the Institute isn't formally part of OSF, it's very close in spirit. I give you this background because the setting and the institute staff made our stay here such an incredible experience.
London (UK), 03 June 2013 – Integrity Action was selected to receive a £500,000 Global Impact Award from Google’s Global Impact Challenge, as decided by a panel of judges that included Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Sir Richard Branson. Integrity Action will also receive support from Google volunteers to help make this project a reality.
Leading transparency and access to information campaigners including CAFOD, Global Witness, Integrity Action and Publish What You Fund, today welcomed a new UN report as driving progress towards enhanced citizen accountability around the world. The report by the High Level Panel of Eminent Persons on Post-2015 Development Agenda calls for a ‘data revolution’, proposes a goal to ‘Ensure Good Governance and Effective Institutions’ and puts transparency, accountability and people’s participation at the heart of the new framework.

London (UK), 31 May 2013 - London: Integrity Action was selected by Google for the Global Impact Challenge Finals! Today is the last day of public voting and we need your support to win.
The Global Impact Challenge supports organisations using technology and innovative approaches to tackle some of the world's toughest challenges. The brief was to propose a project that would use technology to transform lives.
We are happy to launch our new online tool, DevelopmentCheck, a platform for collective action and citizen feedback on development projects.
Over the past decade there has been great interest in the power of citizens to transform society. Engaged citizens are seen as essential in fighting corruption, promoting transparency and accountability, strengthening governance and improving development outcomes. Yet, the evidence base linking citizen action to improved results is often questioned. Yesterday saw an interesting panel discussion on citizen’s role in tackling corruption held at the ODI, London.
