Towards scale and sustainability in community based monitoring and anti-corruption: Mid-term evaluation of Integrity Action’s 2016 – 2020 SIDA Grant
Integrity Action is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) through a four-year grant (2016-2020) worth approximately £2.4 million, which aims to build the organisation’s capacity to deliver on four overarching strategic objectives. A mid-term evaluation of the grant was carried out over five months (October 2018 to February 2019) by a core team of three consultants from Social Development Direct (SDDirect) based in London.
The below report provides a summary of the key findings of this evaluation.
Nepal 16/Community monitoring of Nepal's earthquake reconstruction evaluation
With the support from Pro-Victimis Foundation (PVF), Integrity Action (IA) implemented the “Nepal 16 / Community Monitoring of Nepal's Earthquake Reconstruction” project (April 2016 – February 2017) in collaboration with local NGO, Campaign for Human Rights and Social Transformation (Cahurast) Nepal, in 3 Village Development Committees (VDCs) and one municipality in Sindhupalchowk district. The aims of this project are 1) Engage communities to ensure they get the help they need; 2) Reduce the failure rate of reconstruction projects; 3) Reduce fraud, corruption, waste, mismanagement and duplication, while increasing efficient use of resources; 4) Enhance trust between donors, implementers and recipients.
This report presents the findings and analysis of the final evaluation of the project conducted by Nepal Development Initiative Consulting Pvt. Ltd (NDI) Nepal. The evaluation was conducted between February and March 2017.
Network for Integrity in Reconstruction evaluation
Integrity Action's Network for Integrity in Reconstruction programme was a three-year (2013-2015) programme funded by the World Bank Development Grant Facility. The purpose of the evaluation was to provide an independent assessment of the performance, impact and sustainability of Network for Integrity in Reconstruction activities.

Pro-Poor Integrity evaluation
Integrity Action’s Pro-Poor Integrity (PPI) programme was a five-year (2008-2013) programme funded by DFID’s Governance and Transparency Fund (which is managed by KPMG) designed to introduce ‘integrity’ concepts and practice at the level of local governance by strengthening the capacities of civil society and local state institutions for problem-solving engagement around local public service delivery.

China Integrity Education evaluation
Integrity Action’s China Integrity Education programme was a five-year (2007-2012) programme (funded by the Ford Foundation) designed to introduce ‘integrity’ concepts and training at a university level. Integrity Action's work has helped foster rising sensitivity among student communities to corruption issues in China. The evaluation confirms growing integration of integrity education into curricula and strong demand for integrity training.
